16 Days of Activism Intro

1 in 4 women globally have been subjected to gender-based violence.

There can be no peace in the world if women are not secure, in their homes and in society at large.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international annual campaign focusing on the inhumanity women experience as part of their everyday lives.

Every year, from November 25th (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10th (Human Rights Day), Nobel Women's Initiative contributes to this campaign by spotlighting the incredible work and achievements of grassroots women activists and peacebuilders working to bring an end to it.

196 feminist leaders, activists and human rights defenders from 62 countries, so far.
