For 15 years, Nobel Women’s Initiative has been a
leader in supporting feminist peacebuilding at the
grassroots level around the world. Our leadership
journey now includes organizational transition and
renewal to ensure our internal practices, policies,
and culture are better aligned with the core values
of equality, justice, and peace that guide our external
work.
In the context of a year that has sparked profound reckoning about the ways in which we—as people and organizations, individually and collectively—uphold systemic racism and thereby contribute to white supremacy and racial violence, Nobel Women’s
Initiative joins many organizations and institutions
that have accepted the challenge to correct internal
failures which have caused hurt and harm to people on
our team.
Meaningful transformational change requires a willingness to be open and vulnerable. Nobel Women’s Initiative is committed to unlearning, learning, and relearning to become better.
Meaningful transformational change also requires time. We are carefully looking inward and reflecting on the work ahead. The process of organizational transition and renewal will be deliberate and thoughtful.
As we focus on making Nobel Women’s Initiative a more inclusive, respectful, and safe workplace, a big part of our journey will be understanding how to hold ourselves and our stakeholders accountable for creating more peaceful and racially just societies.
As we pursue this critical work, Nobel Women’s Initiative will be as transparent as possible while respecting the confidentiality and integrity of our Nobel peace laureates, staff, former staff, and consultants.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
