We wanted to give you an update on some important organizational work we are doing.
On July 15, five staff and two consultants resigned from Nobel Women’s Initiative. Other than this statement from our Board, we have largely remained quiet as we have deeply reflected on our individual roles in this organizational crisis, and how to move forward in a way that builds meaningfully on the internal organizational work we started with our team last year. Our Board of Directors is presently undertaking a hiring process for an Independent External Review team to look more deeply into the culture and practices of the organization and provide us recommendations for moving forward.
The Board and the management team of Nobel Women’s Initiative are truly committed to learning from this to generate transformational change within the organization. We understand that our thinking and actions as activists must evolve so that we can better serve women-led peace movements and activists—including women of colour, Indigenous women, and all marginalized women. We look forward to keeping you updated as this crucial work continues.
We hope you and your families are healthy, safe, and well.
Liz & Rachel, Co-Executive Directors
