Message from our Board of Directors
As part of the process of organizational transition now underway, our current co-executive directors have decided to leave the organization by the end of 2020. With deep appreciation for their dedication and contributions, we look forward to entering a new era of transition and renewal for Nobel Women’s Initiative.
This morning, we launched a recruitment process for an interim executive director. Such significant changes in leadership represent crucial early steps in our journey toward meaningful transformation.
Please join us in extending sincere gratitude to outgoing co-executive directors whose expertise and leadership steered Nobel Women’s Initiative to achieve so many important successes over the past 15 years. Their efforts have laid the groundwork on which the organization can now build, improve, and have even greater impact.
We especially acknowledge the tireless dedication of Liz Bernstein who has been executive director of Nobel Women’s Initiative since helping conceive of and launch the organization in 2006.
As part of our commitment to be accountable and transparent during this organizational transition and renewal, we have a launched a new web page to house information and updates about the process. It is where we will share reasons for pursuing this critical work, actions being taken, and stories about what Nobel Women’s Initiative has achieved, where we are going, and why. Please visit it here.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. And as ever, thank you for your ongoing support as we strive to ensure our internal practices, policies, and culture are better aligned with the core values of equality, justice, and peace that guide our external work.
In peace,
Shirin, Rigoberta, Leymah, Tawakkol and Jody
