Release Narges Mohammadi!
Call on Iranian authorities to release human rights defender Narges Mohammadi! Urge Iranian authorities to grant Narges immediate access to specialized medical care outside of Evin prison, as well as allow her regular contact with her lawyer and visits and phone calls from her family, including her children.
Iranian authorities informed Narges Mohammadi she has a scheduled court date for April 20. Narges has been imprisoned since May of 2015 when she was arrested and taken into custody to serve the remainder of a 6-year prison sentence from which she had been released early for medical reasons.
Narges is the President of the National Council of Peace in Iran and Deputy Director of the Center for Human Rights Defenders (CHRD). She was originally sentenced to 11 years in the notorious Evin prison based on a false conviction of charges against the state including the spreading of propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran, supporting the families of political prisoners and conspiring against national security. Since her arrest and imprisonment, Narges’ health has declined. She remains critically ill and has been allowed no contact with her children for over eight months.
