Days before the “Three Amigos Summit” – a meeting between Prime Minister Justice Trudeau, President Barack Obama and President Enrique Peña Nieto - NWI co-hosted a meeting of four women human rights defenders from Mexico in Canada’s Capital. In addition to participating in a panel discussion, Courage and Crisis: Testimony from the Front Lines at the University of Ottawa where they provided an update on human rights abuses, and offered solutions based on their grassroots experience, they also met with Canadian Members of Parliament, Civil Society, Academics, Government officials and the Media to talk about the human rights crisis in their country.
