Advocacy and Partnerships Manager (On Parental Leave)
Amy is a Mexican feminist, artivist, advocate for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence, human rights defender, speaker, gender-based violence advisor, actress and children acting teacher. She also has expertise in crisis intervention and community organizing. Amy has facilitated workshops and lectures on trauma and sexual violence, national and internationally.
Amy combines her artistic work with activism by collaborating with diverse feminist collectives and organizations. She is the director of advocacy at La Casa Mandarina AC, a Mexican independent organization devoted to end sexual violence and heal trauma through artivism and advocacy. Amy is the co-founder of Hablemos Fuerte y Claro AC (Let's Speak Loud and Clear), a feminist organization that defends LGBTTIQ+ rights by promoting sexual education for young people through theater and art. Amy is also a co-founder and actress of the theater company Las Diablas Cabaret that uses art and humor to create a social change.
Amy was a participant in the Sister to Sister Mentorship Program 2021 of the Nobel Women's Initiative (NWI) and Coady Institute, a program that brings together women feminist leaders from around the world.
Amy holds a degree in Performing Arts from the National School of Theater (ENAT) and she graduated from the Diego Rivera Artistic Education Center (CEDART) with a specialty in Dance. Amy always believes in victims, and she wants to build a safer world for everyone; a world where survivors feel they are not alone. She loves to travel, dance, eat, meet new people and learn from them.
Bill is a human rights defender. He joins Nobel Women’s Initiative from Amnesty International Kenya, where he served as the Communications and Membership Officer. He is passionate about data and is experienced in different website management tools and design. In this role, he manages NWI’s website and database and is responsible for implementing NWI communications plans, projects, and priorities across the organization’s website to promote the work of NWI effectively and creatively.
Bill holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics from Moi University, Kenya. He believes in a world where all enjoy human rights. When he is not working, you can find him dancing, swimming, or driving.
Head of Communications and Partnerships
Daina Ruduša is responsible for devising and implementing NWI’s external communications strategy, and managing the communications and partnerships teams. Daina is an experienced communicator with over a decade of experience spanning across media relations, campaigning, writing and editorial, and event management roles in the human rights field. Most recently she led media relations for climate change and clean energy think tank RMI, and headed all communications efforts for the global LGBTIQ equality organisation OutRight International in New York. Prior to that she worked at numerous feminist and LGBTIQ organisations, including ILGA-Europe in Brussels, and CARE International and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in London.
Daina holds an LLM in Public International Law and Human Rights from the Riga Graduate School of Law, and a BA with Honours in History and English from Simon Fraser University. She has lived in eight countries, speaks English, Latvian and Russian fluently, and recently relocated back to her native Latvia where she lives with her two rescue dogs Byron and Lilu.
Dildar Kaya joins NWI's staff team after serving on its board. She is passionate about advancing sustainable development through promoting mental health, women’s rights, and minority rights.
Her social and political interests led her to work with various organizations such as the German Children and Youth Foundation, the Turkish Human Rights Association, Oxfam, UNICEF Bremen, and SEED Foundation.
Equipped with an educational background in Psychology, Dildar has worked on social justice issues and gender equality with marginalized women and youth in Europe. After relocating to Iraqi Kurdistan, she spent the last years working on access to Mental Health services and the recovery of survivors of conflict with a special focus on survivors of ISIS, sexual and gender-based violence, and the Syrian conflict.
Dildar Kaya is a One Young World Ambassador and holds a fellowship from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. In addition, she is a fellow of the transatlantic program for young minority leaders by the Johns Hopkins Universities American Institute for Contemporary German Studies.
Head of Finance and Operations
Ertha Doliscar has over 20 years of experience working in accounting and Finance field. She has worked in both Private and non-for-profit sector. She brings extensive experience in the areas of financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, risk management and strategic business advice.
Prior to joining CARE Canada in 2014 as Director of Corporate Finance, she has worked at CARE Haiti as Budget Manager and Bank of Canada as Senior Analyst and then she joined University of Ottawa in 2012 as Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (Faculty of Medicine), She holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa. She is a CPA; CMA and she is fluently bilingual (French/English)
She has served as Treasurer in several Board including Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW) and Nobel Women Initiative (NWI)
Administrative and Events Assistant
Jacquelinne has a diverse background in event planning, treasury, and education. She is passionate about making a positive impact in the community, and her love for Latin American culture drives her to volunteer and work in various organizations. Jacquelinne has volunteered for the Colombian Canadian Community, a non-profit organization that brings the community together through fundraising, recreational, business-oriented, cultural, and educational events. She has also volunteered for the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada Women's Mentorship Program, which aims to help build community-owned and women-led cooperatives across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Additionally, she has worked as a Spanish instructor for young children in the International Language program at the Conseil des Écoles Catholiques du Centre-Est.
Jacquelinne has a few hobbies that she enjoys, such as spending quality time with her family and being surrounded by nature. She loves dogs and also has a passion for arts, particularly painting and sculpting. She holds a degree in Business Administration from EAN University in Colombia, along with a graduate certificate in Event Management from Algonquin College and a certificate in Virtual & Hybrid Events Director from the Event Leadership Institute.
Nicole Mbambu Musimbi was an Associate for Africa Peacebuilding Programs at the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP). A convener, collaborator, advocate, and leader in the global movement for women’s rights, gender equality, and sustainable peace, Nicole has been a member of GNWP’s Young Women Leaders for Peace in North Kivu, DRC since 2016. She has worked for local NGOs in the Eastern DRC to raise awareness of women’s contributions to sustainable development and peacebuilding in her community. She is a committed peace activist with insightful expertise on young women’s contributions to conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Most recently, Nicole co-launched the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Coalition in DRC, which ensured the ownership and leadership of Congolese youth in the development of the country’s first National Action Plan on YPS.
Furthermore, Nicole developed a Twitter bot to counter the violent and hateful speech within the Congolese Twittersphere; and initiated the Taji Network platform, whose mission is to contribute to challenging the negative narratives and the construction of resilient communities through storytelling.
Interim Executive Director
Tania is a passionate advocate for social justice and equality. With over 25 years (yikes!) dedicated to championing these causes, Tania's journey has been nothing short of impactful. As a staunch feminist and disability rights activist, she directs gender equality, inclusion, and diversity programs with finesse. Her knack for fostering cultural change and forging valuable partnerships has been pivotal in driving success on local and global stages. Her extensive experience spans across renowned global entities like Gender at Work and grassroots initiatives like the North York Harvest Food Bank in Toronto.
She rejoins NWI as the interim Executive Director to power NWI programs and organizational success by securing high-value partnerships, empowering teams, and sparking cultural change.
Tania holds an MA in Social Justice Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. She is an early riser, loves a good concert and enjoys eating, running and cycling.
Executive Director (On Parental Leave)
Maria has over 15 years’ experience in peace, human rights, and feminist organizing. Prior to the Nobel Women's Initiative, Maria spent 12 years at the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), the oldest women’s peace organization in the world, most recently as its Deputy Secretary-General. In this role Maria advocated for peace in the halls of power and at UN and she provided co-leadership and management in the WILPF Secretariat.
Maria serves as a member of the Oversight Group of Ireland’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security appointed by the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2019 and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Human Rights at University College Dublin.
Prior to working at WILPF, Maria worked for Mary Robinson at Realising Rights in New York and gained experience with various diplomatic, humanitarian and development organisations. She founded Grá (meaning love in Irish) a youth led initiative to mobilize resources and connect young Irish people with communities in rural Kenya in 2006.
Maria is the author of numerous publications including a chapter on “Women, Peace and Security and the Arms Trade Treaty” published in The Oxford Handbook of Women, Peace, and Security. Maria is an Attorney-at-Law and a member of the New York State Bar. She holds a Masters in Human Rights from the London School of Economics.
Maria is passionate about promoting equality, dignity and peace.She is a mother of two children, a native of Ireland, and currently lives outside Geneva. She describes herself as a learner, an advocate, and a passionate changemaker.

Muzna Dureid is an accomplished policy analyst and humanitarian practitioner with a decade of experience working in conflict areas. Before joining NWI, she was the Senior Program Development Officer with the White Helmets.
During her career, Muzna has been actively involved in numerous initiatives and networks, focusing on combatting child and forced marriage issues among Syrian refugees, including being the founder of the "Women Refugees, Not Captives" campaign. She is also a passionate advocate for diaspora women's refugee political participation. She co-founded the Syrian Women's Political Movement.
Muzna is a recipient of the prestigious Canadian Excellence in Global Women's and Children's Health Award for her dedication to improving the lives of women and children worldwide. Additionally, Muzna was honored with the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers' annual award for her advocacy in support of the human rights of refugees. She is also a co-recipient of Canada's first-ever research award on Women, Peace, and Security for her work: "Revisiting the Impact of Cybersecurity, COVID-19, and Conflict Nexus on Women Human Rights Defenders."
Muzna holds a master’s degree in public policy and public Administration from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
