Daina Ruduša is responsible for devising and implementing NWI’s external communications strategy, and managing the communications and partnerships teams. Daina is an experienced communicator with over a decade of experience spanning across media relations, campaigning, writing and editorial, and event management roles in the human rights field. Most recently she led media relations for climate change and clean energy think tank RMI, and headed all communications efforts for the global LGBTIQ equality organisation OutRight International in New York. Prior to that she worked at numerous feminist and LGBTIQ organisations, including ILGA-Europe in Brussels, and CARE International and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in London.
Daina holds an LLM in Public International Law and Human Rights from the Riga Graduate School of Law, and a BA with Honours in History and English from Simon Fraser University. She has lived in eight countries, speaks English, Latvian and Russian fluently, and recently relocated back to her native Latvia where she lives with her two rescue dogs Byron and Lilu.
