Remembering our Sister Aisy

Remembering our Sister Aisy

Nobel Women is mourning the passing of Nur Aisyah Maullidah (Aisy) of Indonesia.

Aisy was 22, a spirited and cherished member of Nobel Women's Sister-to-Sister Mentorship program held in the Fall of 2021 along with 14 other young feminist leaders and activists from around the globe.

Like all of them, hers was a life full of promise just beginning to be fulfilled.

We join with her family, her friends, our partner the Coady Institute, the Sisters, and the international WPS community, in our shared grief for this immeasurable loss.

Unfinished Revolution

Unfinished Revolution

On International Women's Day this year, March 8th, Nobel Women's Initiative released its latest report Unfinished Revolution: Women's Human Rights Defenders in the Middle East and North Africa. Through the experiences and insights of 15 prominent activists from the region, it examines how the circumstances and status of women activists in general have changed since the Arab Spring in 2011. The report documents the tactics used to silence them, the strategies they use to resist and endure, and what they need to sustain their struggle. Download the report (versions in English and Arabic) and watch the video interviews.
