Lynne Dobson is a philanthropist, business owner, and former award-winning photojournalist based in Austin, Texas. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, she spent many years working with her family’s iconic company, Whataburger Restaurants, serving in community relations, marketing, and on the board until the company’s sale in 2019. Alongside her business career, Lynne built a distinguished 25-year career in photojournalism, working for newspapers across Ohio, California and Texas.
Today, Lynne focuses her work on philanthropy and humanitarian storytelling, supporting organizations dedicated to women’s health, education, child welfare, and global development across Uganda, India, the Middle East, and East Africa. She serves on the boards of Tres Grace Family Foundation and Tejemos Foundation and is especially passionate about advancing women’s healthcare through Terrewode Women’s Fund in Uganda. Through her advocacy, philanthropy, and photography, Lynne remains deeply committed to creating positive social impact both locally and globally.
