About the film

Samidoun Poster

Samidoun: The Steadfast Women of Palestine is a powerful and deeply moving short documentary that shines a spotlight on the unwavering resilience, strength, and agency of Palestinian women living under the dual forces of military occupation and entrenched patriarchy. Through intimate, firsthand accounts, the film amplifies the voices of women who continue to lead, resist, and rebuild in the face of extraordinary adversity. Their stories are not only a testament to survival but also to defiance, dignity, and an unbreakable spirit.

Featured in the film are the courageous stories of:

  • Reema Abu Aita - A nursing student whose university education was abruptly cut short by the ongoing Israeli war on Palestine.
  • Dr. Asma Nayfeh - A surgeon working on the front lines to save lives.
  • Kefaya Khreim - A human rights lawyer.
  • Halimah Zawaideh - An English teacher and refugee.
  • Diala Ayesh - A lawyer.
  • Aya Al Turk - A social media journalist.
  • Sama Nejm - A trainer, violinist and choir member.
  • Sherine Zedan - A music teacher.

The film was commissioned by Nobel Women’s Initiative and made by Mariam Shahin, Maysara Films.
